Estate Living In Wine Country

Outdoor Sport

The wide variety of Naramata’s natural landscape gives ample opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors in all four seasons. A number of golf courses are within close driving distance, and range from an easy nine holes to ones that would challenge a Pro. Cycling in all its forms borders on mania here, from skilled single-track mountain bikers to road cyclists in their sleek Lycra. The afternoon cruiser can just happily pedal to the Village for an ice cream.

The KVR trail is an easily accessible option for hiking, biking, and walking, all on a gentle 2% grade. More strenuous hiking can be found all through the hills and wild country surrounding the Naramata Bench. Don’t be surprised to find yourself sharing a trail with a rider on horseback, as this is also a popular hobby.

Wintertime snows bring out the cold weather sports enthusiasts. Nearby Apex Mountain offers almost everything – downhill skiing, snow-boarding, mogul runs, tobogganing, cross country skiing, snow-shoeing and skate-skiing. There is even a beautiful skating loop that winds through the snow laden forest. In the city of Penticton, the famed Okanagan Hockey school welcomes talented young hockey players during its summer camp programs. The same arena hosts competitive Junior-level hockey and recreational ice skating.

Or, you could just sit by the fire.
